DMK president M.K. Stalin condemned the ruling AIADMK administration following the Madras High Court verdict striking down the reservation-based seniority policy for state government employees. Stalin attributed the adverse judicial ruling to the executive regime's profound lack of legal acumen and its careless handling of constitutional arguments in court. He asserted that safeguarding statutory affirmative action requires thorough legal preparation, which the incumbent state government routinely neglects.
Stalin observed that indifference toward social justice principles has become a defining characteristic of the AIADMK administration. By failing to present robust statutory defences and empirical evidence supporting affirmative action in promotions, the state administration jeopardized decades of progress achieved by marginalized communities within public employment. This administrative negligence directly harms the career advancement and constitutional entitlements of backward and oppressed public servants across Tamil Nadu departments.
The opposition leader affirmed that the DMK remains committed to preserving social justice, institutional representation, and fair promotion opportunities in government service. He urged the state government to immediately seek appropriate legal remedies, including appellate review, to protect affirmative action policies. Stalin declared that the Dravidian movement will relentlessly fight against any administrative or legal erosion of hard-won reservation rights.
