DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the high-handed and autocratic behavior of ruling AIADMK ministers who deployed police personnel to physically block Singanallur DMK legislator N. Karthik from attending an official government function in Coimbatore. Stalin drew parallels to similar administrative intimidation previously directed against party representatives in Vellore, noting that partisan ministers are increasingly utilizing state police forces as private political squads. He declared that denying elected representatives their lawful right to participate in public administrative functions violates basic parliamentary decorum.
Stalin raised serious questions regarding the safety and civil rights of ordinary citizens in Tamil Nadu when duly elected members of the Legislative Assembly face such blatant authoritarian harassment. When ministers misuse state power to suppress opposition legislators who represent hundreds of thousands of constituents, it exposes a collapsing administrative structure gripped by dictatorial paranoia. Such undemocratic actions demonstrate executive contempt for constitutional conventions and civic representation.
Stalin issued a stern warning to ruling party ministers, asserting that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will teach them a memorable political lesson for persisting in autocratic abuses. He affirmed that the party will continue standing firmly beside its elected representatives.
