DMK president M.K. Stalin voiced deep shock and alarm over revelations in the Union Parliament that Tamil Nadu ranked first in the entire country for toxic contamination in milk supplies. Responding to a parliamentary question raised by DMK parliamentary party leader T.R. Baalu, the central government disclosed that dangerous levels of Aflatoxin M1 (AFM1), a potent toxin known to cause liver cancer, had infiltrated milk through contaminated cattle feed across the state.
Stalin noted that this official parliamentary admission reveals a catastrophic failure in state food safety oversight and agricultural monitoring under the AIADMK administration. While dairy consumers across Tamil Nadu believed they were providing safe nourishment to their families, state authorities turned a blind eye to unchecked distribution of substandard animal fodder and contaminated dairy stocks. The presence of carcinogenic toxins in common dairy products poses an existential threat to child healthcare and public well-being.
Stalin demanded an immediate high-level inquiry, rigorous statewide testing of all commercial cattle feed brands, and strict prosecution of companies distributing toxic ingredients. He affirmed that the DMK will relentlessly pursue accountability to ensure that Tamil Nadu's food supply chains are entirely safe.
