DMK president M.K. Stalin drew attention to a deeply distressing manifestation of Tamil Nadu's severe unemployment crisis, pointing to news reports that thousands of qualified engineers and postgraduates applied for municipal sanitation worker positions. Stalin observed that when highly educated youths are compelled to compete for basic manual civic posts due to a total lack of professional avenues, it demonstrates the utter failure of state economic planning. He characterized this reality as a heartbreaking indictment of governmental negligence toward educated youth.
Stalin accused both the central and state governments of playing a cruel, indifferent game with the futures of educated young citizens. Instead of fostering industrial growth, attracting productive investments, and expanding state recruitment boards, the AIADMK administration presided over a prolonged freeze on public sector recruitments and allowed private industrial expansion to stagnate. Stalin noted that empty political slogans regarding job creation cannot substitute for concrete industrial policy and timely administrative employment notifications.
He urged the administration to overhaul state employment generation schemes, revitalize small industries, and expedite recruitment across thousands of vacant government positions. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will champion policies ensuring dignified livelihoods for Tamil Nadu's youth.
