DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound disappointment over orchestrated political campaigns and media narratives falsely accusing his party of attempting to impede local body elections across Tamil Nadu. Stalin pointed out that ministers within the ruling AIADMK establishment have systematically circulated unfounded allegations to conceal their own prolonged administrative failure in conducting timely civic polls. He emphasized that the DMK fought unceasingly through mass mobilizations and legal representations to secure local elections.
Stalin particularly regretted that sections of the mainstream media uncritically echoed these partisan falsehoods, deliberately turning governmental propaganda into televised debate topics. Instead of examining why the state government delayed ward delimitation, manipulated municipal boundaries, and failed to conduct polls for over three years, certain media outlets redirected scrutiny toward the opposition. Stalin stated that responsible journalism requires objective investigation into governmental omissions rather than amplifying diversionary ruling party narratives.
He reaffirmed that the DMK remains completely committed to grassroots democracy and constitutional decentralization. Stalin asserted that no amount of false propaganda will deter the DMK and its allies from securing a decisive democratic mandate in civic elections.
