DMK president M.K. Stalin forcefully countered false political allegations suggesting that his party opposed the conduct of local body elections in Tamil Nadu. Stalin pointed out that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam is the only political movement in the state that conducted extensive preparatory consultative conventions across more than 12,500 local civic bodies. The party consistently waged sustained legal and democratic battles to ensure that municipal and panchayat elections are conducted promptly in strict compliance with statutory norms.
Stalin condemned the ruling dispensation for spreading deliberate falsehoods in an attempt to mislead the electorate, noting that repeating a falsehood multiple times does not transform it into the truth. He emphasized that the DMK approached judicial forums only to compel the administration to complete mandatory ward delimitation, implement fair reservations for marginalized communities, and eliminate systemic malpractices orchestrated by the ruling AIADMK establishment.
Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK has always derived its core political strength from vibrant grassroots democracy and municipal self-rule. He declared that the party eagerly anticipates contesting the civic polls to secure decisive public mandates for community development and accountable administration.
