DMK president M.K. Stalin demanded that district administrations across Tamil Nadu operate on a war footing as unrelenting torrential rains battered several districts, submerging roads, inundating dwellings, and disrupting everyday civilian life. Stalin highlighted that massive waterlogging turned thoroughfares into virtual rivers, with floodwaters entering hundreds of households across multiple towns. Fallen trees and damaged overhead power lines led to severe electrical outages, leaving countless neighborhoods in complete darkness.
Stalin criticized the state government for its sluggish disaster management machinery, pointing out that citizens were left to fend for themselves amid rising waters and safety hazards. He urged revenue, municipal, and emergency personnel to work in close coordination to drain inundated residential areas, open safe relief shelters, and provide clean drinking water and food packets to displaced families. Specialized electrical repair squads must be deployed immediately to rectify damaged power cables and avert lethal electrocution accidents.
Stalin called upon local authorities to maintain continuous vigilance and provide transparent communication regarding water release from overflowing dams. He affirmed that the DMK will actively oversee relief measures and assist vulnerable citizens throughout this weather emergency.
