DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a grave public health warning regarding the alarming risk of widespread dengue outbreaks across Tamil Nadu following prolonged stagnation of rainwater in numerous residential quarters. Stalin emphasized that unchecked waterlogging creates rampant breeding grounds for mosquitoes, dramatically escalating the transmission of vector-borne fevers among vulnerable populations, particularly young children and elderly citizens. He stressed that administrative lethargy in public sanitation could quickly precipitate a statewide health crisis.

Stalin called upon the state government and municipal health officials to initiate preventive anti-dengue measures immediately rather than reacting after hospital beds become overwhelmed. He demanded that local administrative bodies deploy dedicated vector control teams to carry out intensive indoor fogging, larvicidal spraying, and systematic de-silting of choked roadside storm drains. Municipal authorities must also ensure prompt clearance of accumulated municipal waste and coordinate immediate drainage of submerged residential colonies.

Stalin emphasized that the health administration must set up fever surveillance clinics and guarantee ample supplies of essential diagnostic kits and medications in government hospitals. He affirmed that the DMK will rigorously hold the executive accountable for public healthcare preparedness.
