#NEM2019 https://t.co/BwCk3rGPgG

DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted an extensive inspection tour of severely flooded localities across Cuddalore district following torrential northeast monsoon rains, meeting affected residents and personally distributing emergency relief supplies. Stalin reviewed extensive waterlogging in residential quarters, low-lying coastal villages, and agrarian settlements where rainwater had entered hundreds of dwellings. He expressed grave concern over the intense hardships endured by daily-wage earners, agricultural laborers, and vulnerable families left without dry shelter or potable drinking water.
Stalin sharply condemned the state administration for total failure in executing pre-monsoon precautionary engineering works, desilting canals, and strengthening natural drainage corridors before the monsoon commenced. He noted that predictable seasonal rainfall had once again plunged Cuddalore into severe distress solely due to governmental negligence, bureaucratic inertia, and missing flood-mitigation infrastructure. The executive failed to implement basic mitigation measures despite knowing the district's acute vulnerability to seasonal inundation.
Stalin demanded that the state government immediately deploy high-capacity suction pumps, organize mobile medical clinics to prevent post-flood waterborne diseases, and disburse equitable cash compensation to households whose properties suffered damages. He reaffirmed that the DMK will stand beside the people of Cuddalore.
