DMK president M.K. Stalin visited Nadur village in Mettupalayam to offer personal condolences to families devastated by a fatal compound wall collapse that claimed seventeen lives during heavy rainfall. Meeting surviving kin whose households were completely shattered by the disaster, Stalin expressed deep personal grief over the tragic loss of innocent working-class citizens. Four full families were entirely eradicated under the debris of the collapsed structure, leaving behind devastated neighbors and relatives.
Following his interaction with grieving residents, Stalin spoke directly with the Coimbatore District Collector to review emergency relief arrangements and rescue operations. He strongly urged the district administration to act swiftly upon the legitimate grievances and demands raised by the affected community. Stalin emphasized that administrative functionaries must prioritize immediate shelter provision, specialized medical treatment for injured victims, and expedited paperwork for official compensation.
Stalin stressed that bureaucratic negligence must not delay vital aid to vulnerable families grappling with unimaginable bereavement. He affirmed that the DMK will stand in complete solidarity with the working-class residents of Nadur, ensuring sustained political and legal pressure until every affected family receives comprehensive rehabilitation and dignified justice.
