DMK president M.K. Stalin confirmed that a senior parliamentary delegation from his party personally met Prime Minister Narendra Modi in New Delhi to deliver an extensive memorandum on vital state priorities and the humanitarian rights of Eelam Tamils. The delegation, consisting of Lok Sabha members T.R. Baalu and Kanimozhi Karunanidhi alongside Rajya Sabha member Tiruchi Siva, presented Tamil Nadu's pressing developmental, fiscal, and federal grievances directly to central authorities.
Stalin conveyed his expectation that the Prime Minister would examine the submissions expeditiously and initiate constructive administrative actions. The memorandum highlighted critical pending issues concerning federal tax devolutions, infrastructure project approvals, agrarian livelihood safeguards, and educational autonomy. Additionally, the petition called upon the Union Government to exert diplomatic pressure on Colombo to ensure constitutional equality, full devolution of administrative powers, rehabilitation assistance, and dignified living conditions for Tamil minorities in Sri Lanka.
Stalin affirmed that the DMK consistently champions Tamil Nadu's collective interests and democratic dignity across national forums. He reiterated that the party will continue pressing central authorities to secure positive outcomes for state development, educational autonomy, and global Tamil welfare.
