DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound alarm over escalating sexual atrocities against young girls and women in Coimbatore, Thudiyalur, and the suspicious death of a young woman in Andi Siruvallur. Stalin noted that these horrific incidents have created widespread panic, insecurity, and acute distress among mothers across Tamil Nadu. He emphasized that the state administrative machinery has utterly failed to ensure basic public safety for women and children in both urban and rural areas.
Stalin sharply questioned the ruling AIADMK administration for gross fiscal neglect regarding women's protection infrastructure. He highlighted that while Tamil Nadu received 190 crore rupees under the specialized Nirbhaya Fund for female safety and crime deterrence, the state government disbursed a meager 6 crore rupees. Stalin condemned this shocking administrative lethargy, pointing out that vital protective surveillance, safe transit corridors, and specialized support helplines remain unbuilt due to executive inertia.
Stalin demanded immediate institutional accountability, rapid judicial investigation into recent offenses, and full operational utilization of allocated safety funds. He affirmed that the DMK will persistently fight to guarantee robust security, dignity, and justice for every woman in Tamil Nadu.
