DMK president M.K. Stalin announced that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will stage massive public condemnation demonstrations across all district headquarters in Tamil Nadu on December 17. Stalin explained that the crucial deciding factor behind the passage of the anti-Tamil and unconstitutional Citizenship Amendment Bill in the Rajya Sabha was the deliberate support provided by the ruling AIADMK's parliamentary members. He asserted that the AIADMK administration betrayed Tamil Nadu's collective interests and acted against the welfare of minority communities by endorsing the central legislation.

Stalin stressed that the AIADMK leadership sacrificed secular values and abandoned Sri Lankan Tamil refugees simply to curry favor with the ruling Bharatiya Janata Party in New Delhi. By enabling statutory discrimination against Muslims and excluding displaced Tamils from citizenship eligibility, the state government proved its complete subservience to central dictates. The scheduled statewide demonstrations will expose this historic betrayal before the public court and register massive popular protest across urban and rural centers.

Stalin called upon party cadres, alliance partners, and democratic citizens to turn out in unprecedented numbers for the district protests. He affirmed that the DMK will relentlessly challenge legislative treachery and defend constitutional secularism across Tamil Nadu.
