DMK president M.K. Stalin launched a fierce condemnation of the Citizenship Amendment Act while leading a massive protest demonstration in Kanchipuram, questioning whether the Union Government enacted a citizenship statute or an insidious trap designed to subvert democracy. Stalin declared that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam does not resemble the ruling AIADMK leadership, which stands silently with folded arms and muted voices while anti-people legislation is imposed on the state by central authorities.

Stalin asserted that the DMK draws its ideological courage and combative spirit from the legacy of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and Muthamizharignar Kalaignar Karunanidhi. The AIADMK administration under Edappadi K. Palaniswami compromised Tamil Nadu's collective interests by blindly facilitating central measures that target minorities and neglect Sri Lankan Tamils.

Stalin resolved that the DMK will persistently lead public agitations across every district to awaken democratic consciousness.
