DMK president M.K. Stalin criticized the Union Bharatiya Janata Party government for enacting the Citizenship Amendment Act, arguing that laws should foster societal harmony rather than destabilize public order. Stalin observed that while statutory enactments are historically designed to establish peace, security, and rule of law, the contentious citizenship measure was introduced with the apparent objective of provoking unrest and communal friction. He noted that the legislation triggered widespread apprehension and spontaneous demonstrations nationwide.
Stalin pointed out that the country faces severe economic stagnation, acute unemployment, agrarian distress, and escalating living costs that demand immediate executive intervention. Despite these mounting crises, neither the central administration nor the state AIADMK government demonstrated meaningful concern for resolving fundamental public livelihood grievances. Instead, both regimes expended administrative resources on implementing polarising laws that divert public scrutiny from widespread governance failures.
Stalin asserted that responsible governance requires prioritizing public welfare, industrial revival, and social stability over divisive political experiments. He resolved that the DMK will continue to mobilize public awareness across Tamil Nadu, demanding that governments address genuine popular needs rather than generating artificial social divisions.
