DMK president M.K. Stalin raised serious concern over the steep decline in India's gross domestic product growth rate to 4.5 percent, citing alarming warnings issued by the International Monetary Fund and independent economic analysts. Stalin highlighted that prominent economists have cautioned that the national economy has been pushed into a precarious situation due to flawed structural policies. He characterized the economic slump as clear proof that the six-year tenure of the BJP government neglected genuine economic development.

Turning to regional governance, Stalin asserted that Tamil Nadu's industrial and economic performance suffered severe stagnation due to the administrative incompetence of the ruling AIADMK government. By blindly supporting central economic directives and failing to advocate for regional fiscal interests, the state leadership crippled local manufacturing, small enterprises, and employment opportunities. The collapse in state revenue growth reflects prolonged policy paralysis and executive inertia.

Stalin concluded that sustainable national growth demands rigorous fiscal planning, active support for core productive industries, and transparent democratic governance. He affirmed that the DMK will continue to hold both central and state administrations fully accountable for economic mismanagement, revenue contraction, and escalating youth unemployment.
