DMK president M.K. Stalin personally traveled from Chennai to Ranchi to participate in the formal swearing-in ceremony of Hemant Soren as Chief Minister of Jharkhand. Highlighting the symbolic significance of his presence, Stalin stated that he arrived from Tamil Nadu, the historic soil of social justice and the Self-Respect movement, to extend fraternal solidarity to Hemant Soren, whose father Shibu Soren waged decades of heroic grassroots struggles for tribal rights and indigenous forest sovereignty and self-determination. He underscored that regional movements championing marginalized communities share a common constitutional destiny.
Stalin observed that Jharkhand's decisive election outcome delivered a resounding democratic blow against central majoritarian forces seeking to dilute tribal reservations, land protection statutes, and environmental autonomy. The emergence of an assertive secular coalition in the mineral-rich eastern state strengthens nationwide resistance against discriminatory central enactments.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravidian movement has continually stood with Adivasi communities, backward classes, and religious minorities across India. He reiterated the DMK's steadfast commitment to building strong inter-state political alliances to safeguard constitutional federalism, affirmative action, social dignity, and inclusive economic development across all regions.
