DMK president M.K. Stalin hosted an emotional personal meeting with Murugan, an extraordinary humanitarian worker who spent more than thirty years retrieving bodies of railway accident and suicide victims across Chennai tracks despite living in acute poverty. Stalin expressed deep admiration and emotional respect for Murugan's selfless, dignified service to society, performed under traumatic and hazardous conditions where ordinary citizens hesitate to assist. He noted that Murugan undertook this essential humanitarian task without institutional backing, stable income, or official safety equipment, driven solely by compassionate humanism.

Stalin recognized that society and government owe an unpayable moral debt to frontline workers who dedicate their lives to dignified post-mortem handling of deceased citizens. To ensure long-term livelihood security for Murugan and his impoverished family, Stalin personally requested Central Chennai Member of Parliament Dayanidhi Maran to coordinate with relevant administrative authorities and facilitate permanent government employment for him.

Stalin stressed that identifying and rehabilitating grassroots heroes who perform selfless public service remains a core social duty. He reaffirmed the DMK's commitment to standing beside humble working-class individuals who exemplify supreme human compassion and dedicated civic duty.
