DMK president M.K. Stalin warmly extended heartfelt New Year greetings for 2020 to the people of Tamil Nadu and the global Tamil community, expressing hope that the new year brings progressive thoughts, fresh light, renewed vitality, and collective prosperity. Stalin emphasized that greeting a new calendar year requires collective ideological commitment toward safeguarding the foundational constitutional values of the republic. He urged citizens to take a solemn pledge to protect social equality, fraternal harmony, social justice, secularism, and human dignity against divisive forces.

Stalin pointed out that constitutional democracy faces grave challenges from majoritarian divisiveness and authoritarian centralism that threaten equal citizenship and regional cultural autonomy. Amid widespread public unrest across the nation, standing firmly with the marginalized, working classes, students, and religious minorities becomes the primary civic duty of every conscious citizen.

Stalin wished that the year 2020 heralds lasting peace, economic recovery, educational expansion, and sustainable social advancement for all sections of society across the state. He resolved that the DMK will persistently struggle to safeguard democratic pluralism, secular harmony, state rights, and social justice across Tamil Nadu.
