DMK condemns rising incidents of violence against students within universities in the aftermath of #CAA2019
All those who are responsible for these incidents must brought to book immediately.
DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound shock and indignation over circulating visual evidence showing masked assailants violently attacking students and faculty members inside the Jawaharlal Nehru University campus in New Delhi. Armed miscreants carrying iron rods and clubs invaded academic buildings and student hostels, leaving numerous individuals, including student union leaders and professors, severely injured. Stalin issued an unequivocal condemnation of the escalating violence targeting academic institutions in the aftermath of nationwide demonstrations against the Citizenship Amendment Act.
Stalin stated that permitting armed goons to roam freely within a prestigious national university while campus security and police personnel remain passive bystanders indicates state complicity. Academic campuses must remain sanctuaries for intellectual freedom, debate, and democratic discourse rather than battlegrounds for state-sponsored intimidation. He stressed that orchestrating coordinated physical assaults against protesting youth undermines the constitutional rule of law and democratic dignity.
Stalin demanded that Union authorities and Delhi police immediately identify, apprehend, and prosecute all criminal perpetrators behind the violent rampage. He affirmed that the DMK stands in resolute nationwide solidarity with courageous student communities fighting to preserve democratic liberties across India.
