DMK president M.K. Stalin highlighted the sustained organizational growth and expanding electoral footprint of the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam across Tamil Nadu, presenting comparative statistical data spanning successive local and general elections. Stalin pointed out that in rural local body elections, the number of elected DMK panchayat union councillors expanded from 1,007 in 2011 to 2,100 in 2020. Similarly, the party's district panchayat councillors grew remarkably from thirty members in 2011 to 243 representatives in the latest rural polls.
Stalin detailed that this institutional momentum extended across legislative and parliamentary tiers as well. The party's legislative assembly strength expanded from eighty-nine to one hundred members following consecutive assembly byelections. At the national level, the DMK rose from zero Lok Sabha members in 2014 to twenty-four members in the 2019 parliamentary elections. Citing these empirical outcomes, Stalin dismissed opposition propaganda claiming DMK influence was declining, posing the question whether the party represented a waxing or waning moon.
Stalin expressed gratitude to Tamil Nadu voters for placing overwhelming confidence in the party's leadership. He resolved that the DMK will channel this expanding public mandate into accountable public service.
