DMK president M.K. Stalin delivered a scathing appraisal of the annual Governor's Address delivered in the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly, stating that scrutinizing all fifty-six pages revealed nothing of administrative substance or public value. Stalin asserted that Governor Banwarilal Purohit merely read aloud an uncritical eulogy composed directly by Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and his cabinet. He characterized the ceremonial speech not as an objective appraisal of the state's economic health, but as partisan propaganda masquerading as constitutional reporting.
Stalin noted that the address completely omitted urgent public grievances, including crippling agrarian distress, severe rural unemployment, mounting state debt, and rising commodity inflation. Instead of presenting policy roadmaps for industrial revival or student welfare, the government reduced the solemn constitutional ritual to an exercise in comedic self-praise. He cautioned that transforming the state assembly into a theater of political deception undermines parliamentary dignity.
Stalin urged the ruling AIADMK administration to stop staging theatrical legislative displays and confront pressing ground realities. He emphasized that responsible democratic governance requires honest policy disclosures rather than scripted partisan speeches designed to mislead the electorate.
