DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a live media conference in Chennai immediately concluding the party's high-level Executive Committee deliberations, presenting the party's roadmap for democratic struggle and organizational readiness. Stalin explained the details of the six comprehensive resolutions passed by the committee, focusing on immediate state action to stall the National Population Register, the rejection of discriminatory citizenship amendments, and the protection of the Cauvery delta from hazardous hydrocarbon extraction. He reiterated that the DMK's primary mission is articulating the genuine anxieties and legitimate aspirations of the people.
Responding to media queries, Stalin highlighted that the party will spearhead a coordinated statewide mobilization involving all secular allies, beginning with an all-party consultation on January 24 and intensive street protests across delta districts on January 28. He criticized Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami for betraying Tamil Nadu's core interests on critical issues including NEET, local reservation rights, and agricultural preservation. Stalin stressed that the AIADMK administration has abdicated its constitutional duty to protect state autonomy.
Stalin expressed full confidence that party workers and the public will participate enthusiastically in all planned democratic agitations. He affirmed that principled opposition leadership remains dedicated to safeguarding people's democratic liberties.
