DMK president M.K. Stalin announced that the party's Executive Committee adopted six major resolutions in Chennai, formally demanding that the AIADMK state government pass an executive order refusing to conduct the National Population Register and National Register of Citizens enumeration exercises. Stalin emphasized that the party resolved to convene an all-party meeting of secular allies on January 24 to formulate a united, decisive action plan against the divisive Citizenship Amendment Act. He declared that Tamil Nadu will not permit its diverse social fabric to be torn apart by sectarian central policies.

Stalin observed that the National Population Register serves as the stealth preparatory phase for the National Register of Citizens, creating immense anxiety among religious minorities, impoverished rural households, and landless laborers. Neighboring states like Kerala had already halted NPR activities to protect citizen rights and social harmony. Stalin pointed out that the AIADMK's continued reluctance to resist central diktats stems from political vulnerability and subservience rather than genuine concern for the welfare of the state's people.

Stalin called upon all progressive democratic organizations to present a united front against communal legislation. He affirmed that the DMK will persistently lead public mobilizations until constitutional secularism is completely safeguarded.
