DMK president M.K. Stalin commemorated the historic Language Martyrs Day, paying emotional homage to the brave martyrs who sacrificed their lives during the historic anti-Hindi agitations to protect the Tamil language and cultural heritage. Stalin observed that the DMK was forged and nurtured through the supreme sacrifices of those heroic martyrs whose legacy continues to guide the Dravidian movement. He sharply contrasted this noble ideological lineage with the self-serving conduct of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami, whom he accused of plundering state resources while remaining indifferent to citizen welfare.
Stalin declared that whenever central or state regimes threaten Tamil language rights, regional autonomy, or cultural dignity, the DMK will stand as an impenetrable shield defending Tamil Nadu. He condemned covert attempts to impose Hindi and Sanskrit through educational curricula, administrative exams, and public sector communications. Preserving linguistic equality and cultural diversity is indispensable for maintaining India's multinational federal fabric.
Stalin called upon party workers and the younger generation to honor the memory of the language martyrs by vigorously resisting cultural hegemony and political subservience. He reaffirmed that the DMK remains eternally dedicated to safeguarding Tamil identity, democratic rights, and state autonomy against all forms of centralized domination.
