Equally concerned about Farooq Abdullah, @MehboobaMufti & other Kashmiri leaders who are incarcerated without trial or due process.
Union Govt must immediately release all political prisoners and restore normalcy in Valley. https://t.co/JaPBf2EFJJ

DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound anguish and distress upon seeing a circulating photograph of detained former Jammu and Kashmir Chief Minister Omar Abdullah, who appeared visibly aged and unkempt after months of prolonged administrative detention. Stalin voiced equal concern regarding the continued, indefinite incarceration of former Chief Ministers Farooq Abdullah and Mehbooba Mufti, alongside hundreds of political activists held without trial or transparent legal recourse. He demanded that the Union government immediately release all Kashmiri political detainees and take urgent steps to restore democratic normalcy across the Valley.
Stalin observed that subjecting former Chief Ministers and parliamentarians to punitive isolation without trial is completely antithetical to constitutional democracy and human decency. Depriving political representatives of basic communication, freedom of movement, and civil liberties undermines the rule of law and alienates the Kashmiri populace. He stressed that a confident, mature republic engages in open political dialogue and democratic consultation rather than relying on draconian preventive detentions to enforce administrative silence.
Stalin appealed to progressive national forces and human rights defenders to speak out unequivocally against these unconstitutional detentions. He affirmed that lasting peace and national integrity can only be achieved through justice, democratic engagement, and constitutional respect.
