#admkantipplgovt https://t.co/5jlLPNQNNN

DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the high-handed arrest of DMK cadre A.V. Muthulingam by state police following his participation in the Arasur village grama sabha meeting near Coimbatore. Muthulingam was detained simply for raising legitimate civic questions and criticizing the administrative shortcomings of Local Administration Minister S.P. Velumani. Stalin warned Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and local police authorities that if such undemocratic suppression of citizen speech continues, he will personally lead massive public demonstrations across Coimbatore to defend democratic liberties.
Stalin observed that grama sabhas are constitutionally established institutions created precisely to empower rural citizens to question local elected representatives, audit village public expenditures, and debate civic welfare freely. Deploying state police personnel to silence and arrest villagers who voice peaceful dissent in legally mandated forums constitutes a flagrant violation of panchayat democracy and constitutional speech rights. He asserted that the ruling AIADMK ministers are acting like feudal despots who cannot tolerate public scrutiny.
Stalin demanded the immediate, unconditional release of Muthulingam and the withdrawal of all fabricated charges. He affirmed that the DMK will fearlessly protect grassroots activists against executive intimidation across Tamil Nadu.
