DMK president M.K. Stalin addressed a massive celebratory conference in Tiruchirappalli attended by newly elected party representatives who secured decisive victories in the rural local body elections. Stalin congratulated the elected village panchayat presidents, union councilors, and district panchayat members for their stellar electoral performance despite administrative hurdles erected by the ruling party. He instructed the grassroots representatives to treat their electoral victory as a sacred public mandate to serve rural communities with total dedication, integrity, and transparency.

Stalin highlighted that rural local bodies form the foundation of democratic self-governance and grassroots economic empowerment. He urged the elected local representatives to focus vigorously on basic civic infrastructure, including uninterrupted drinking water supply, efficient rural sanitation, all-weather village roads, and modern primary schools. Stalin reminded them that compassionate, prompt resolution of public grievances at the panchayat level directly reflects the governance values of the Dravidian movement pioneered by Periyar and Anna.

Stalin affirmed that exemplary performance in rural administration will pave the way for the DMK's decisive return to state governance in 2021.
