Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned provocative public statements made by Tamil Nadu Dairy Development Minister K.T. Rajendra Balaji, demanding that the Governor immediately dismiss him from the state cabinet. Stalin asserted that a constitutional minister who swore allegiance to the rule of law was actively inciting communal hatred, spreading social toxicity, and attempting to steer the state onto a dangerous path of violence. He urged law enforcement agencies to initiate stern criminal proceedings against the minister for violating constitutional propriety and promoting enmity between communities.

Stalin observed that peaceful coexistence and social harmony constitute the foundational strengths of Tamil Nadu's social fabric. When a senior cabinet minister publicly delivers venomous speeches targeting religious minorities and threatening communal peace, it signals a complete breakdown of administrative discipline and constitutional governance under Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami. Stalin pointed out that the Chief Minister's silence amounts to tacit political endorsement of hate-mongering.

Stalin called upon the Governor to discharge his constitutional duty by removing the minister without delay. He stressed that administrative authority must never be misused to spread communal hostility. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will relentlessly safeguard Tamil Nadu's communal harmony and democratic peace.
