#SignatureAgainstCAA https://t.co/rM1Fy2AR51

DMK president M.K. Stalin visited the coastal hamlet of Kovalam near Chennai to inaugurate a local signature campaign against the controversial Citizenship Amendment Act, National Register of Citizens, and National Population Register. Interacting closely with local fishermen, coastal workers, and community members, Stalin explained the severe legal and societal consequences stemming from divisive citizenship legislation. He noted that his direct personal visits across diverse neighborhoods aim to energize grassroots volunteers and accelerate the momentum of the statewide petition movement.
Stalin highlighted that ordinary coastal and rural communities often possess scarce ancestral documentation, leaving them highly vulnerable to administrative harassment under intrusive NPR-NRC verification processes. He emphasized that citizenship should never be linked to religious affiliation, nor should citizens be subjected to bureaucratic scrutiny regarding their heritage. The signature campaign provides a peaceful, structured constitutional avenue for citizens of all backgrounds to register their firm collective rejection of discriminatory central policies.
Stalin commended the Kovalam community for participating enthusiastically in the drive, demonstrating that secular democratic values remain deeply cherished across Tamil Nadu. He reiterated that democratic mobilization must reach every corner of the state. Stalin resolved to continue fighting until constitutional secularism is fully upheld.
