DMK president M.K. Stalin issued a stern warning against continuous attempts to dilute statutory reservation policies under the Union BJP government. He pointed out that ever since the central regime assumed power, affirmative action rights guaranteed to Backward Classes, Most Backward Classes, Scheduled Castes, and Scheduled Tribes have faced systematic erosion and legal ambiguity. Stalin insisted that the Union government take immediate legislative and constitutional measures to protect reservation entitlements without permitting administrative confusion to undermine social justice.
Stalin highlighted that affirmative action represents an invaluable constitutional remedy achieved through decades of selfless social reform struggles across Tamil Nadu and India. Diluting quota norms through administrative equivocation, judicial inaction, or stealth policy revisions directly harms underprivileged students and job seekers aspiring for educational and professional advancement. He asserted that no government possesses the moral or democratic authority to weaken affirmative action safeguards built over generations.
Stalin demanded unambiguous statutory guarantees to ensure unhindered implementation of reservation quotas across all central universities, medical admissions, and government recruitment boards. He affirmed that the DMK will persistently resist every maneuver targeting backward communities. Stalin reiterated that social equality remains the bedrock of Indian democracy.
