Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed grave shock over reports that the state-owned Tamil Nadu Minerals Limited, widely known as TAMIN, was unable to disburse basic monthly salaries to its workforce. Stalin emphasized that systemic administrative neglect under the ruling AIADMK government has crippled foundational public sector undertakings across the state. He warned that chronic financial mismanagement, operational opacity, and official indifference have devastated state industries, destroying sustainable employment opportunities for thousands of skilled laborers.

TAMIN historically served as a prime revenue-generating public enterprise responsible for mineral exploitation, granite quarrying, and industrial development. Stalin pointed out that when vital public sector corporations fail to pay basic employee wages, working-class households face acute livelihood distress, debt, and economic uncertainty. He held the incumbent administration directly responsible for steering productive commercial institutions into financial ruin through incompetence and corruption.

Stalin demanded immediate executive intervention to release pending worker emoluments and formulate an urgent financial revival roadmap for TAMIN. He stated that robust public corporations are essential for balanced industrial growth across backward districts. Stalin affirmed that protecting workers' dignity and public assets remains an inescapable governmental duty.
