DMK president M.K. Stalin lauded Puducherry Chief Minister V. Narayanasamy for adopting historic legislative resolutions opposing the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Population Register, and National Register of Citizens while fiercely defending affirmative action reservations. Stalin noted that Puducherry established a principled democratic precedent by confronting unconstitutional central statutes that undermine composite citizenship and social justice. He praised the Chief Minister's unflinching resolve, likening his political courage to the steadfast governance traditions championed by former Chief Minister M. Karunanidhi.

Narayanasamy had declared on the floor of the Puducherry Legislative Assembly that his administration stood prepared to sacrifice executive power rather than compromise constitutional liberties.
