We are hopeful that the people's voices will be heard by Hon'ble President and efforts to implement NRC will be given up.

DMK president and Leader of the Opposition M.K. Stalin strongly criticized the Speaker of the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly for summarily rejecting the DMK's formal notice to introduce a resolution against the Citizenship Amendment Act, National Population Register, and National Register of Citizens. Stalin described the Speaker's refusal to permit an open debate inside the House as unfair to millions of concerned citizens across the state. He asserted that denying the legislature an opportunity to discuss contentious policies undermines representative democracy.
Stalin stated that while the state administration evaded democratic discussion in the legislature, the united opposition sought constitutional redress at the highest national level. He expressed hope that President Ram Nath Kovind would carefully consider the overwhelming public sentiment and intervene to halt the divisive implementation of the NRC. Stalin emphasized that the voice of millions of citizens who value communal harmony cannot be silenced through procedural maneuvers.
Stalin affirmed that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam will not relent in its political and legal resistance against discriminatory citizenship measures. He called on democratic forces to continue mobilizing public opinion peacefully across Tamil Nadu. Stalin reiterated that upholding secularism and constitutional equality remains non-negotiable for the party and the people.
