DMK president M.K. Stalin expressed profound alarm over the escalating communal violence in northeast Delhi, which resulted in gruesome physical attacks against innocent citizens, emergency personnel, and working journalists. Stalin pointed out that the Union government retains direct administrative control over the Delhi Police, making it solely responsible for maintaining public peace and protecting civilian lives. He emphasized that permitting violent mobs to rampage through residential neighborhoods unhindered places Indian democracy in grave peril.

Stalin condemned the deliberate targeting of journalists covering the clashes, noting that attacks on the press represent an authoritarian attempt to suppress ground realities and hide administrative failures. When reporters and camera crews are assaulted and intimidated, the public is deprived of truthful, unvarnished information. Stalin stressed that law enforcement agencies must act swiftly, arrest the perpetrators regardless of political affiliation, and restore safety across all affected neighborhoods.

Stalin called upon the Prime Minister and Union Home Minister to take immediate administrative control of the situation and deploy adequate security forces. He reiterated that upholding communal harmony and civilian security is an urgent constitutional obligation.
