DMK president M.K. Stalin held Union Home Minister Amit Shah directly accountable for the breakdown of law and order during the communal violence in northeast Delhi. Stalin asked whether the Home Ministry failed to maintain public peace due to administrative incompetence or a lack of political will to act against perpetrators. He firmly stated that the widespread protests against the Citizenship Amendment Act are neither a battle of Muslims nor Hindus, but an essential democratic movement to defend the constitutional rights of all Indian citizens.
Stalin criticized the ruling BJP administration for pursuing polarizing political strategies that fracture social cohesion and pit communities against each other. He observed that orchestrating hatred and permitting unchecked violence in the national capital inflicts severe damage on India's global reputation. Stalin stressed that ordinary citizens, including innocent working families and local business owners, suffered devastating losses of life and property while law enforcement delayed intervention.
Stalin urged the central government to abandon divisive policies and rebuild communal trust through impartial law enforcement and dialogue. He emphasized that constitutional secularism and peaceful coexistence remain non-negotiable national foundations. Stalin affirmed that the DMK will continue standing with all citizens in defending democratic freedoms and social harmony.
