Editorial context

DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly condemned the Union government's unilateral initiatives aimed at taking over historical temples, ancient archeological sites, and heritage monuments across Tamil Nadu. Stalin questioned the inexplicable silence of Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami and Minister for Tamil Culture K. Pandiarajan, accusing them of surrendering state rights and historical treasures to central authorities. He declared that the DMK will never permit any cultural aggression that undermines Tamil civilization, temple autonomy, or ancient architectural heritage.

Tamil Nadu's majestic temples and historical monuments represent millennia of Dravidian architectural excellence, artistic genius, and distinct cultural history, carefully preserved under the state's Hindu Religious and Charitable Endowments framework. Stalin warned that attempts to centralize administration over these sacred and historic spaces threaten local customs and state jurisdiction. He stressed that cultural heritage must remain under the stewardship of the state people and their representative institutions.

Stalin demanded that the Tamil Nadu government officially lodge a strong protest with the central ministry against any central takeover of local monuments. He asserted that safeguarding ancient heritage is a sacred cultural duty. Stalin concluded that his party will spearhead democratic resistance against any policy designed to dilute Tamil linguistic and cultural identity.

This is an initiative of unofficial DMK and Dravidian Ideology supporter, a fan of Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna and Kalaignar — not affiliated with any official DMK party or persons.
