DMK president and Leader of the Opposition M.K. Stalin raised the severe economic crisis facing micro, small, and medium enterprises during the Tamil Nadu Legislative Assembly proceedings. Stalin underscored that widespread industrial shutdowns, supply-chain disruptions, and collapsing retail demand had caused widespread job losses and catastrophic revenue deficits across manufacturing hubs. He demanded that the Tamil Nadu government formulate a comprehensive economic rescue and financial stimulus package, mirroring international economic interventions.

Tamil Nadu's industrial ecosystem depends heavily on millions of micro and small manufacturing units operating across Coimbatore, Tiruppur, Chennai, and Madurai. Stalin observed that sudden cancellations of commercial orders and operational closures threaten these enterprises with insolvency and liquidation. Without prompt state intervention, small business entrepreneurs cannot pay utility bills, service bank debt, or retain their skilled workforce.

Stalin urged the state government to provide targeted fiscal relief, interest moratoriums, utility fee waivers, and emergency working capital credit lines to distressed industrial units. He emphasized that preserving industrial capacity and shielding workers from unemployment are indispensable for state economic survival. Stalin appealed to the administration to consult industry associations and roll out a rescue framework before manufacturing networks collapse completely.
