DMK president M.K. Stalin strongly criticized the AIADMK administration for its reckless decision to proceed with Class eleven and twelve public board examinations amidst the escalating coronavirus outbreak. Stalin questioned whether the state government was deliberately trivializing the grave public health threat by compelling hundreds of thousands of teenage students, teachers, and school staff to congregate in examination halls. With central educational boards and several state governments already suspending examinations, Tamil Nadu's stubbornness exposed a dangerous disregard for student safety.
Stalin emphasized that forcing students to travel in public transport, assemble in examination centers, and sit in enclosed classrooms completely contradicts basic physical distancing guidelines. Such bureaucratic rigidity not only causes intense psychological anxiety among students and parents but also creates potential super-spreader clusters across urban and rural centers. He warned the state government against playing perilous games with the precious lives and health of school students.
Stalin demanded that the School Education Department postpone all board examinations immediately until public health conditions normalize. He urged the administration to prioritize preventive healthcare above rigid academic calendars. Stalin reaffirmed that the DMK will steadfastly defend the health, safety, and psychological well-being of Tamil Nadu's students and teachers.
