DMK president M.K. Stalin appealed to Tamil Nadu Chief Minister Edappadi K. Palaniswami to convene an all-party meeting immediately, stressing the imperative of confronting the coronavirus calamity on a war footing. Stalin stated that an unprecedented public health disaster of this magnitude cannot be tackled through bureaucratic machinery alone. He emphasized that ruling and opposition parties must unite on a common platform, putting aside political differences to formulate comprehensive, democratic solutions for safeguarding public health and economic stability.
Stalin pointed out that frontline healthcare institutions, local municipalities, and farming communities are experiencing operational disruptions that require multi-faceted policy interventions. Consulting elected leaders across political spectrums allows the government to identify grassroots bottlenecks in food distribution, medical equipment supplies, and migrant labor welfare. A collective democratic approach reinforces public trust, builds societal resilience, and ensures that emergency relief reaches every needy citizen without delay.
Stalin reiterated that the opposition is not seeking political advantage but offering genuine, constructive partnership to strengthen the state's epidemic defense. He urged the Chief Minister to demonstrate administrative maturity and call for an inclusive multi-party consultation without hesitation. Stalin affirmed that fighting the pandemic requires collective resolve, administrative transparency, and shared democratic commitment across Tamil Nadu.
