In an inspiring official communication addressed to party cadres, DMK president M.K. Stalin emphasized that the Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam has never hesitated to transcend political boundaries to render selfless public service during historic calamities. Stalin reminded party members of the movement's long tradition of standing with the oppressed, stating that humanitarian duty supersedes all electoral considerations in times of widespread peril. He exhorted cadres to maintain mental fortitude, observe physical distancing discipline strictly, and dedicate themselves to supporting distressed citizens across Tamil Nadu.
Stalin stressed that the pandemic has brought immense fear and economic uncertainty into millions of ordinary households. Cadres must act as compassionate pillars of community support, identifying families struggling for daily nourishment and ensuring timely delivery of food and groceries. While carrying out relief activities, workers must scrupulously comply with health department safety norms, avoiding large gatherings and prioritizing personal protective practices.
Stalin noted that selfless community service during trials deepens the bond between the party and the public. He expressed confidence that the collective resilience, discipline, and benevolence of the Tamil people will ultimately triumph over the contagion. Stalin reiterated his personal pledge to remain constantly available to guide relief initiatives throughout the ongoing lockdown.
