DMK president M.K. Stalin took prompt administrative action to assist twenty-two Tamil Nadu vendors, including three women and five young children, stranded across Mysore and Gangavathi in Karnataka. Bringing their acute hardship directly to the attention of Karnataka Chief Minister B.S. Yediyurappa, Stalin stated that the vendor families were stranded without adequate food supplies, drinking water, or hygienic shelter following the nationwide lockdown. He urged the Karnataka administration to dispatch immediate relief provisions and ensure safe shelter.

Stalin shared the direct telephone details of Rasamurugesan, head of the Tamil Nadu Small Vendors Development Association, facilitating swift coordination between local district commissioners and the affected vendor group. He expressed grave concern for the small children and female vendors enduring precarious conditions in unfamiliar surroundings without financial means. Stalin emphasized that municipal authorities must extend compassionate, non-discriminatory care to all migrant families residing within their jurisdiction during emergencies.

Stalin affirmed that the DMK will persistently monitor the welfare of these families until their safety and food security are fully guaranteed. He reiterated that protecting vulnerable citizens stranded away from home requires active cross-border political vigilance. Stalin emphasized that humanitarian empathy must unite all regional administrations during unprecedented crises.
