Demonstrating his dedication to inclusive social welfare, DMK president M.K. Stalin mobilized comprehensive relief provisions for five hundred individuals with disabilities residing in Chennai's Saidapet constituency. Stalin personally handed over large consignments of essential groceries, nutritious food materials, and sanitary supplies to Deepak Nathan, the state president of the advocacy group December 3 Movement. Recognizing the mobility constraints faced by disabled citizens under lockdown regulations, Stalin arranged dedicated volunteers to transport supplies directly to each beneficiary's residence.
Stalin noted that persons with disabilities experience heightened vulnerabilities during public emergencies due to interrupted therapeutic services, loss of informal livelihoods, and physical barriers in accessing municipal ration outlets. Standardized disaster response mechanisms often overlook these acute physical challenges, leaving vulnerable citizens without immediate sustenance. He emphasized that progressive governance demands empathetic, proactive measures that eliminate bureaucratic hurdles for marginalized populations.
Stalin commended disability rights activists for their unwavering dedication and called upon the state government to establish specialized relief helplines and doorstep delivery networks across Tamil Nadu. He instructed DMK cadres to prioritize disabled persons, elderly residents, and single women in all community relief initiatives. Stalin reiterated that social justice requires defending the dignity and survival of every vulnerable individual.
