DMK president M.K. Stalin highlighted the vital issues articulated by DMK parliamentary party floor leader T.R. Baalu during an all-party consultation convened by Prime Minister Narendra Modi. Representing Tamil Nadu's interests at the national level, Baalu underscored deficiencies in diagnostic testing capacity and the acute shortage of personal protective equipment for frontline medical workers. He forcefully contested the disproportionate central fiscal allocations to the state and opposed the unilateral suspension of parliamentary local area development funds.

Stalin affirmed that while the DMK and its cadres extend wholehearted cooperation in combating the pandemic, national disaster management must remain responsive to provincial requirements.
