ஆனால் தமிழகத்தின் பெரும்பான்மையான உள்கட்டமைப்புக்கு பின்னிருக்கும் இவர்களது உழைப்பு அளப்பரியது. நன்றியோடு துணை நிற்போம்! #TNFightscorona https://t.co/VvQ4gqUHJN

DMK president M.K. Stalin highlighted the indispensable economic contribution of interstate migrant workers to Tamil Nadu's industrial and urban infrastructure, urging society to stand by them with profound gratitude during the lockdown. Stalin noted that thousands of workers who left their ancestral homes to earn a livelihood have played a pivotal role in constructing the state's roads, bridges, and commercial complexes. In this extraordinary hour of distress, he emphasized that these laborers deserve dignified care, secure housing, and nutritious food.
Stalin pointed out that abrupt factory closures and suspension of construction activities left countless migrant laborers without income, shelter, or regular sustenance. He cautioned against treating displaced workers with suspicion or apathy, emphasizing that Tamil culture has always embraced hardworking individuals regardless of linguistic or geographic origin. The state government and municipal bodies must organize comprehensive welfare camps equipped with hygienic facilities, language-appropriate information, and medical screening.
Stalin directed DMK cadres to identify stranded worker settlements across their respective constituencies and deliver essential groceries, drinking water, and safety gear. He called for coordinated interstate dialogue to facilitate eventual travel arrangements when safe. Stalin reiterated that protecting working-class dignity remains central to social justice.
