DMK president M.K. Stalin highlighted extensive food distribution drives organized across Tamil Nadu to provide hot, nutritious meals and dry grocery packages to impoverished and underprivileged communities experiencing severe privation during the pandemic lockdown. Stalin pointed out that sudden economic restrictions, workplace closures, and movement curfews had inflicted immediate food insecurity on millions of vulnerable families, elderly citizens, and unorganized daily-wage laborers who rely entirely on daily earnings.
Stalin commended party functionaries, youth wing members, and dedicated grassroots volunteers who established decentralized community kitchens and distribution counters to feed distressed citizens across assembly segments. Adhering to essential sanitation and physical distancing norms, volunteer teams prepared wholesome meals daily, ensuring that no impoverished person went hungry in their neighborhoods. He emphasized that feeding the hungry represents the highest expression of social justice and human compassion.
Stalin urged the state government to recognize the vast magnitude of urban and rural hunger by scaling up public feeding operations through state-run canteens and community centers. He affirmed that the DMK will persistently dedicate its organizational energy to protecting vulnerable communities from destitution during crises.
