DMK president M.K. Stalin extended warm May Day greetings to the working class across the nation, reaffirming the DMK's resolute commitment to stand in solidarity with laborers confronting acute adversity. Stalin noted that the global pandemic emergency, compounded by the indifferent posture of both Union and state administrations, had plunged millions of factory employees, daily wagers, and informal workers into unprecedented socio-economic vulnerability and extreme livelihood insecurity.
Stalin emphasized that the Dravidian movement shares an organic, historical bond with the labor movement, founded on principles of social justice, workplace dignity, and statutory welfare entitlements pioneered under Thanthai Periyar, Perarignar Anna, and Muthamizharignar Kalaignar. He cautioned that opportunistic attempts to dilute hard-won labor protections under the guise of pandemic recovery represent a regressive assault on workers' constitutional rights that must be fiercely resisted across political platforms.
Stalin pledged that the DMK will relentlessly mobilize and fight alongside trade unions to defend occupational safety, fair remuneration, job security, and universal social benefits. He affirmed that economic revival is unattainable without empowering and protecting the labor force that builds the nation's industrial and agricultural strength.
