DMK president M.K. Stalin exposed a glaring conflict of interest and brazen abuse of official authority involving Deputy Chief Minister O. Panneerselvam, pointing out that a real estate enterprise where his two sons serve as directors applied for and secured commercial project clearances from the Tamil Nadu Real Estate Regulatory Authority (TNRERA). Stalin underscored that TNRERA functions directly under the administrative jurisdiction of the Housing and Urban Development Department headed by Panneerselvam himself.
Stalin characterized the regulatory clearance as undeniable documentary evidence establishing systemic administrative malpractice and corruption within the ruling dispensation. He noted that permitting commercial entities owned by immediate family members of the departmental minister to secure discretionary clearances constitutes an egregious breach of the constitutional oath of office. Such overt favoritism undermines regulatory integrity and demonstrates how public administrative bodies were subordinated to serve private familial interests under AIADMK rule.
Stalin demanded a comprehensive, independent judicial inquiry into the regulatory permissions granted to the enterprise. He affirmed that the DMK will relentlessly pursue legal accountability to eradicate high-level political corruption and restore institutional transparency across Tamil Nadu.
