DMK president M.K. Stalin engaged in detailed video conference discussions with representatives of Micro, Small, and Medium Enterprises (MSMEs) across Tamil Nadu, acknowledging the severe distress suffocating the industrial manufacturing sector. Stalin recognized that consecutive operational challenges, including extended lockdown disruptions, severed supply networks, and canceled orders, have pushed thousands of small manufacturing enterprises to the brink of collapse. He listened attentively to industrial federations seeking immediate policy interventions.
Stalin stressed that reviving small and medium industries is vital to preserving industrial production and securing the livelihoods of millions of hardworking factory employees. Without urgent governmental assistance, widespread enterprise closures would produce catastrophic unemployment and cripple Tamil Nadu's established manufacturing base. He pointed out that entrepreneurship in industrial clusters like Coimbatore, Tiruppur, and Ambattur requires targeted credit support and overhead relief rather than bureaucratic indifference.
Stalin urged both Union and state governments to immediately concede key industry representations by granting electricity fixed demand charge waivers, interest moratoriums, and working capital infusions. He affirmed that robust small enterprises are foundational to regional prosperity, industrial revival, and equitable employment generation across Tamil Nadu.
