DMK president M.K. Stalin conducted comprehensive consultative discussions with leaders and representatives of prominent agricultural associations across Tamil Nadu through the Ondrinaivom Vaa initiative. Stalin reviewed the immense challenges confronting farmers during the lockdown, including severe transportation bottlenecks, lack of market access for perishable harvests, arbitrary procurement price crashes, and acute shortages of agricultural inputs ahead of the Kuruvai cultivation season.

Stalin emphasized that farmers form the foundational pillar of the nation's survival, yet the AIADMK administration abandoned them to severe economic vulnerability during the health emergency. While cultivators struggled to sell harvested produce and faced mounting rural indebtedness, the government failed to establish decentralized procurement centers or offer direct cash compensations for ruined horticultural and grain crops across agricultural districts.

Stalin assured agricultural representatives that the DMK will aggressively champion their rightful demands before the state and central administrations. He demanded that the government immediately waive crop loans, supply free seeds and fertilizers, and ensure transparent, remunerative procurement for all agricultural produce. Stalin affirmed that defending agrarian livelihoods and farmer dignity remains a core ideological priority for the DMK across Tamil Nadu.
